Conversion Rate

The percentage of users who complete a specific goal out of the total number of visitors.

What is Conversion Rate?

Conversion rate is the primary metric used in A/B testing. it is calculated by taking the number of users who completed a goal and dividing it by the total number of users who saw the page.

Conversion Rate = (Conversions / Total Visitors) × 100%

Examples of Conversions

  • Ecommerce: Completing a purchase.
  • SaaS: Signing up for a free trial.
  • Lead Gen: Filling out a contact form.
  • Content: Clicking a "Read More" button or subscribing to a newsletter.

Why It Matters

A/B testing isn't just about changing colors; it's about conversion rate optimization (CRO). Even a small 1% increase in conversion rate can lead to massive revenue growth over time.
